New Jalie Lisette Skirt Pattern

Lisette 3883
Size S/T
Alterations:  Shortened length by 2 inches, graded out to a T below the waist

Here is the new Jalie Pull-on Pencil Skirt!  I chose the knee length version with waistband.  Options include skirt with waistband, skirt without waistband, and color-blocking.  All can be made at mini or knee length.  Since I am petite, I did have to shorten the knee length version to bring it above my knee.  This is pretty standard for me with all patterns.

I love, love, love this waistband!  It's wide, it feels comfortable, and there is elastic enclosed in the top that you can't even tell is there.  This is a very quick and easy sew.  Perfect for dressing up or for casual wear.

Jalie bottoms are usually a size S for me, but when it comes to a skirt, lately I'm finding I need a little more room on the back side.  A size S graded out to a T was perfect for me.

My skirt fabric was a nice med/heavy knit purchased from Joann's Fabrics.
My top is also made from Jalie 2805.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Shirley

    1. Thank you! It was so hard trying to find something local to match to the skirt print. I had to order online, hoping to get a good-enough match. Thankfully I did!

  2. I love this skirt on you. It looks like a perfect fit, plus comfy yet dressy. Jalie waistbands with the hidden elastic are my favorite.

    1. Thanks Kristin! I think Jalie has the best waistband construction in patterns that I've seen!

  3. Thank you for this review. A question... Have you ever made colette patterns Mabel - and if so, how do they compare? I am coming to really trust Jalie. (I love my Eleonore jeans and my Marie Claude.. have made multiples of both.) After your review I will definitely make this pattern. Thanks!

    1. Hello! Yes, I have made the Mabel. Here is my blog post about it http://sewingbyshirley.blogspot.com/2015/01/jalie-dolman-top.html I prefer Jalie's pattern because of the elastic in the waist. Since you have already made the Eleonore, you are already familiar with the method of sewing the elastic in the waistband. Both are very simple skirts to make though!
