Embroidered Jalie Jeans with a Delila Top

I once thought that I would not make myself any more jeans, but then I got an embroidery machine.  It occurred to me how much fun it would be to put a pretty design on a pair for spring!

My Butterfly Jeans

I pulled out my Jalie jean pattern and slimmed the leg below the knee.  I've made these jeans several times but never with a straight leg...something I definitely needed in my wardrobe for sandal wear.

Here is a closeup of the beautiful butterfly design I purchased through an Etsy shop.

With Embrilliance Essentials, I was able to flip the design so I could get it to face both directions on my pant leg.

I've made Angela Wolf's Delila top before, so I knew it would be a quick make to pair with my jeans.  I bought this jersey knit at Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon, which made this top really inexpensive.  I need to peruse the fabric there more often.

On a personal note, I'm going all natural with my hair color.  So far, I'm liking it.  Honestly, I was getting pretty tired of coloring my hair.  It was an endless cycle of color, which was too dark initially.  Then after a couple of weeks, it was looking just right.  A couple more weeks would pass and then the roots would be showing their true color.  I have to say I'm enjoying the freedom of not coloring my hair.  The backside is the only place where there is a reminder of the color that it once was.

Back to my shirt now--I couldn't line up my diagonal stripe since I had to flip my back pattern piece to get it to fit on my 1.5 yards of fabric.  When I purchased this knit, I had not yet decided what pattern I would use and assumed that 1.5 yards would be enough to accommodate any pattern I had.  Well, lesson learned.

And with spring comes the wind here in OKC!
