Here was an attempt at a blog picture.  My daughter and I went outside to take pictures and it started raining!  So, this is it.  Lately my girls are so busy between homework and lives of their own, it's hit or miss to get someone to take a picture for me.  As if the rain wasn't enough, the wind started picking up.  My daughter kept telling me to "fix my hair" and that we wouldn't be able to tell in the pictures that it was raining.  This picture captured the moment well I think.  We were laughing and then I said, "that's enough" and we ran.  She was right though, you really can't tell that it was raining.

I really like the palm leaf print, but my intention was a maxi dress and not a skirt.  That was a fail, so I chopped off the bodice and threw together a skirt.  At least I salvaged my fabric.

I've made the scarf-collar top many times for me and my girls.  It really is a quick sew once you wrap your head around the scarf part.  The directions are well written and illustrated.

I'm loving having an embroidery machine.  I got the PE800 for last Christmas.  If you are on the fence about whether or not to get one, I highly recommend it.  I love to sew and honestly, I wondered if there was room enough for a second hobby that I would love as much.  The above embroidery is a JUJU Design floral split monogram.  I made this for a birthday gift, frame purchased at Michael's.

Who knew you could embroider toilet paper?!  Not bad for a first attempt.  However, don't go so cheap on the TP.  This was so thin that I had to triple my squares.  I think the paper still looks cheap.  It was a good test though.  I read on a FB group that you can get the plastic bags at the dollar store.  They come in a package of 20 for $1.00.  It's really an inexpensive and satisfying project.  The designs out there are hilarious.  I purchased this TP embroidery design from Bella Bleu Embroidery.

These are JUJU Mason Jar designs that I put on bar mop towels.  Target has these towels in a few different colors.  I placed the embroidery right in the center of the towel, which I think works well.

I also have two quilts that I am working on and some other sewing projects for myself and my girls.
